Objective
Develop and implement a robust process control system for a Moving Bed Biofilm Reactor (MBBR) water treatment plant at the Brule Mine, ensuring seamless integration with existing operations while meeting or exceeding regulatory discharge standards
Solution:
- Process Control Narrative Development – Created a detailed control philosophy to govern automation sequences, alarms, and interlocks, ensuring efficient and reliable plant operation.
- Control System Architecture – Designed a scalable and modular control framework to support real-time monitoring, historical data logging, and future expansion.
- PlantPAx DCS Implementation – Programmed the entire system using Rockwell’s PlantPAx DCS, integrating advanced control loops, automated sequencing, and remote access for real-time diagnostics and monitoring.
- Seamless Integration – Ensured compatibility with existing site infrastructure while optimizing system performance and operator usability.
- Ongoing Support & Optimization – Provided continuous updates to the control system, refining logic, enhancing visualization, and implementing new features to improve operational efficiency.
Our Role:
- Process Control & Automation – Designed the control architecture and programmed the PlantPAx DCS to optimize treatment processes.
- Designed and supplied Tusk MCP’s and control hardware.
- Remote Monitoring & Data Analytics – Enabled remote HMI access, real-time trending, and automated reporting for better decision-making.
