Objective
Supply and integrate multiple high-capacity Motor Control Panels (MCPs) for a mine water treatment plant, ensuring the system was operational on an aggressive timeline to meet the mine’s permitting requirements.
Solution:
Tusk Automation delivered a total of seven MCP lineups, including high-current back-to-back configurations, while adapting to ongoing process design modifications. The project required parallel fabrication and design, making flexibility and rapid execution critical to success.
- High-Capacity MCP Supply – Delivered:
- Two 2500A back-to-back MCPs
- One 1600A back-to-back MCP with integrated ABB Emax2 ATS
- Two 400A MCP lineups
- Two 600A MCP lineups
- Agile Design & Fabrication – Built MCPs while the client’s process design was still evolving, adjusting configurations in real-time to meet changing specifications.
- Fast-Track Execution to Meet Permitting Deadlines – Maintained an aggressive schedule to ensure the mine could bring its water treatment system online in time for regulatory approval.
- Seamless System Integration – Ensured all MCPs were compatible with the client’s control infrastructure, supporting smooth commissioning and deployment.
Our Role:
- MCP Design & Fabrication – Supplied high-capacity motor control solutions while adapting to evolving process requirements.
- Power & Control System Integration – Integrated ABB Emax2 ATS and other critical control components.
- Project Execution Under Tight Deadlines – Successfully delivered all panels on schedule to support mine permitting requirements.
Tusk Automation’s ability to adapt, problem-solve, and execute under pressure ensured the successful delivery of these high-capacity motor control solutions, keeping the mine’s water treatment plant on track for regulatory approval.
