Project Profile

Tusk Automation provided detailed engineering services for the project, including designing overhead line tie connections, conducting coordination studies, creating scope documents, construction drawings, breaker settings, grounding details, civil drawings, and other necessary project documentation. Tusk facilitated coordination and project management between contractors, site operations, and the client's private utility service to ensure the project was completed safely, efficiently, on-time, and under-budget.

Tusk was able to add value for the end user by repurposing an existing 3MVA transformer that was already on site. This significantly reduced the project's duration. However, the transformer was much larger than required, so Tusk took design steps to mitigate fault current and arc flash risk.

In addition, Tusk designed and supplied the low voltage switchgear using ABB Emax2 drawout breakers for the secondary distribution and integrated it with the client’s SCADA system.
